N is for Nihihi!, Nodnol and Noj
NE'ER
Pronunciation Neer
Meaning Never, usually the type of never suffixed by "mind". "Ne'er say ne'er" just Wouldn't Work, no matter how good the wages were.
Usage "I was going to write a good example sentence, but I can't think of one. Ne'ermind."
Origin It's well known, but Roe, one of its chief exponents, insisted on me including it in May 2000.
NIHIHI! [exclamation]
Pronunciation Nih Hih Hih!
Meaning An aevil laugh, similar to bwahaha!
Usage "Nihihi!" cacked The Aevil Wizard Rohan, as he turned Smill into a large toadstool.
Origin Either Roe or Zed, late 1998.
NODNOL [noun]
Pronunciation Nod Nol
Meaning London
Usage Pretty good tourist attraction.
Origin The Red Dwarf episode "Backwards", early 90s.
NOJ [noun]
Pronunciation Nodge
Meaning Jon. Usually my brother, but he tends to deny this claim when in public.
Usage Door stop, perhaps?
Origin My parents, late 1982. I started calling him Noj in mid 1999, to protect his identity from potential stalkers. Must play good big sister, you know.
NO TA KENNETH
Pronunciation Noe tar Ken-neth.
Meaning No thank you.
Usage "I'd offer you a better example sentence, except you'd probably say, 'No ta Kenneth'."
Origin Noj, many years ago. He wrote the beginnings of a text adventure game where the aim was to buy a car. While at "Dodgy Ken's Really Good Motors (Honest Gov!)" one of the options was to say, "No ta Ken." Thanks to Zed, however, these three seemingly harmless words have become an integral part of the average TW6Z0 reader's vocabulary.
